Preface

Our story wasn’t the fairy tale love we once imagined, but we’ve grown.

2017: A Year to Never Forget

It was something so small and special, they would have said, "Why not go and see what happens? Just for the fun of it." It was my first party at 21. Little did I know, it would change everything. That night, I met a boy I would remember forever.

He was the one with the blue Puma hat and shoes, the one who couldn’t take his eyes off me. The one who ran after me when I went to my car to grab music for the party. But after a heartbreak, I never imagined I would fall in love again. I just wanted a friend, nothing more. But life had different plans for me.

From Instagram messages to constant calls, he didn’t stop until we left the party. Even though my friend found him attractive and wonderful, he only had eyes for me. I could sense that this might be trouble.

We sat and talked, laughing, not even knowing that my friend liked him more than I did at that time. I later found out that he only had eyes for me, and I started to wonder what was really going on. Less than a week later, we saw each other again.

There were lots of ups and downs, but who said love stories were ever easy? He took me away for a weekend, and it felt like a true love story—until the end came so fast, it was something I could never explain to anyone.

Even though our love story stopped, he never stopped checking in. He would always ask how I was doing and if I was still living in the same place. He’d come back just to see me and make sure I was smiling.

He came back in June after getting hurt, but then disappeared again, only to return after three years. And do you know what happened? On December 9th, 2024, he came back. Since then, we’ve been talking and enjoying our time together.

Our story wasn’t the fairy tale love we once imagined, but we’ve grown. During the time he was away, I found love with someone else, had a baby, and now, we're back with the same story—different but real.
