child of a dying country
once once the land was awash with pride
sometimes almost optimism
we had survived so much done so much
but fifty or sixty years later
negligent and complacent
suffering inadequates and incompetents
to rule this once-peasant land
we suffer oh how we suffer
once proud folk now have lost the will to live
watching, waiting for the next lie their next attempt to fool us
where where was that wrong turning
where did we go wrong?
