the blink of an eye
a flash brief blinding light that startles the western sky
a devils blink perhaps
or the contemptuous spit from some god unknown
perhaps an arcane wink
signalling the prelude to the end
but wait pause and think
do not panicbut resolutely
ponder wonder and excite
for death that ultimate adventure
