I wonder sometimes if my heartbeatIs as rhythmic and beautiful to youAs your heartbeat is to me.I wonder if you listen to its steady beating for comfort.I wonder if you lay at nightAnd listen to its songWhen you are unable to you listen to the way it hammers when I am full of fear? Or the way it skips a beat when you look at me?Does it comfort you when you are uneasy?Does it help anchor you to this world when things seem to be falling away?Does it lead you to the light when all else is dark?If you were to ask me,I would say without a doubt thatYour strong, steady heartbeat does all that-and more.I could listen to the thumping melody is the sound of home.
